Cabinet on stand model 2135 designed by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn
Sweden, 1950s

Cherry wood and alder root veneer.

From a private Swedish collection.

The root veneer on the outside and inside of this cabinet by Josef Frank is exceptional. With its boxy, rectangular aesthetic, the body elegantly rests on four sturdy legs. Two doors reveal ample storage, and a practical pull out surface offers multipurpose use. A discrete key elegantly locks away the interior.

“Model 2135” was made in two versions—one with this striking root veneer and the other with simple mahogany doors. Simplicity and exceptional quality make this piece a timeless Svenskt Tenn collectible.
