This dining table, model "O.K," was designed by Axel Einar Hjorth for Nordiska Kompaniet (NK). The name "O.K" is thought to stand for "Ordinärt Köp," Swedish for "Ordinary Purchase," reflecting its practical and everyday purpose. Hjorth created this table with the aim of producing a functional piece for modern living. The table demonstrates Hjorth’s approach to combining modern design principles with Swedish furniture-making traditions. The name suggests it was intended to appeal to a broad audience while maintaining the standards associated with NK.

The table features a square top with rounded edges, made from burl wood, and a pedestal base with four curved legs crafted from dark-stained wood. The contrasting materials and straightforward design emphasize functionality and attention to construction.

Axel Einar Hjorth (1888–1959) was a Swedish designer who integrated traditional craftsmanship with modern design. As chief designer for Nordiska Kompaniet, he produced furniture that combined Nordic influences with contemporary international styles. His later works, such as the "Utö" series, reflect a simpler, rustic aesthetic inspired by the Swedish archipelago.
