Modernity at TEFAF Maastricht 2018 – March 10 to 18th
For our second participation to the event, we have curated some of the most exclusive and collectible pieces of 20th Century Nordic design.
Børge Mogensen, Hans Wegner, Grete Jalk, Axel Salto, Josef Frank, Hans Olsen, Tapio Wirkkalaa, Poul Henningsen, and Paavo Tynell are some of the Nordic masters we will be showcasing this year.
One of the highlights of our stand will be an extraordinary sculpture by Eva Hild, Sweden’s celebrated and world-renowned ceramist. The unique work of art comes from the estate of New York-based venture capitalist and art collector Dr. Pentti Kouri.
Another highlight will be an early Flora cabinet designed in 1937 by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn – one the most recognizable and desirable pieces of modern Swedish design.
Our third highlight is a one-of-a-kind vase designed by acclaimed Danish ceramist Axel Salto. Made in the sprouting style in the 1940’s for Royal Copenhagen, the vase features an exceptional and highly-valued oxblood glaze.
Also in the spotlight this year, an extraordinary lamp designed by Axel Enoch Boman for Orrefors
in 1915. Only two examples were produced at the time - one belongs to the Swedish National Museum collection, and the other one is on display at our stand.
Our centerpiece this year is a dining suite signed by Danish designer Børge Mogensen. The dining table is extendable to up to nearly four meters/13 feet, and is enhanced by a stunning MMF rug placed underneath and designed by Barbro Nilsson in 1952.
We are also especially proud to present a selection of widely sought-after Paavo Tynell lighting: a chandelier, a wall lamp and two floor lamps, each featuring exquisite design details.
It will be a pleasure to welcome you here, so do let us know if you are planning to visit.
Best regards,
Andrew Duncanson
