Sculpture by Tina Reuterberg
Sweden, 2005

Earthenware.

This sculptural ceramic piece by Tina Reuterberg, created in Sweden in 2005, showcases an expressive and organic approach to form. Made from earthenware, the piece features a dynamic, almost otherworldly structure, with spiked, flowing shapes that radiate outward, resembling natural coral formations or abstract flames.

Reuterberg's work is characterized by its intuitive, playful, and expressive nature. She often creates vessels, pots, and ornamental sculptures that draw inspiration from natural forms, such as seed capsules and succulents. Her creative process involves constructing her pieces like puzzles, employing classic, lead-based glazes that are meticulously applied using airbrush or hand-brushing techniques.

Tina Reuterberg (born 1967) is a distinguished Swedish ceramicist, designer, sculptor, and educator. She began her artistic education in 1985 at Gustavus Primus painting school and later earned an MFA in ceramics from the University of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg.
