Sideboard designed by Josef Frank for Svenkst Tenn

Walnut with brass hardware.Frank was commissioned to create a number of unique pieces of furniture during his career. One such example is this sideboard that was designed for an apartment on Strandvägen, in central Stockholm. It was made by Svenskt Tenn in 1960-61. The overall design, especially that of the legs, was inspired by the chest of drawers, model 2170, designed by Josef Frank in 1954. The figuring of the walnut across the front and top of the piece is spectacular.
