Table lamp model 195 /2 designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Sweden, 1950s

Brass.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson's Model B-195/2 table lamp, designed in the 1960s, exemplifies the Scandinavian modern aesthetic with its minimalist design and functional elegance. Crafted entirely from brass, the lamp features a cylindrical shade mounted on a slender, angled arm, all supported by a circular base. This design allows for adjustable lighting, making it suitable for various settings such as desks, side tables, or reading nooks.

In 1951, Jakobsson founded his own company, Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB, in Markaryd, Sweden. His designs often utilized natural materials like pine, brass, and glass, reflecting the Scandinavian modern aesthetic. He was particularly inspired by the "Organic Modern" movement, drawing influence from designers such as Poul Henningsen and Alvar Aalto.
