Erich (1898–1972) and Ingrid Triller (1905–1982) were a pioneering ceramicist duo celebrated for their refined stoneware. They met during their studies in Germany between 1929 and 1934, where they developed a shared vision rooted in functionalism and meticulous craftsmanship. In 1935, they founded their ceramics workshop in Tobo, Sweden, dedicating themselves to producing elegant and precisely crafted stoneware. Their work was deeply influenced by Bauhaus principles, prioritizing functionality, simplicity, and high-quality materials while avoiding unnecessary decoration.
The Tobo studio became a centre for excellence in Swedish ceramics, and their pieces are now housed in major museum collections across the country. Their legacy endures, shaping contemporary ceramic art with a timeless balance of artistry and utility.
