Mahogany, hand printed paper & brass handles.
Josef Frank designed the "Flora" chest of drawers, model 1050, for Svenskt Tenn in the 1930s. Made of mahogany, it is decorated with hand-printed paper from Nordens flora by C.A. Lindman, showcasing Frank’s signature botanical aesthetic. His exploration of nature-inspired patterns began during his time with Haus & Garten in Vienna, where he developed a design approach that merged functionality with decorative expression. Meanwhile, Svenskt Tenn’s founder, Estrid Ericson, cultivated her own interest in botanical prints, further deepened by a visit to Carl von Linné’s Hammarby estate in 1930. This shared passion for nature played a key role in shaping the design of the Flora chest of drawers.
