Description:

Jacob Eiler Bang (1899 – 1965) was a pioneering Danish glass designer renowned for his functionalist approach and significant contributions to Scandinavian design. While Jacob Eiler Bang is primarily celebrated for his glass designs, he also made notable contributions to stoneware ceramics. His stoneware pieces are characterized by their functional forms and distinctive glazes, reflecting the Scandinavian modern aesthetic.

A fun fact about Jacob Eiler Bang is that although he originally trained as an architect, he shifted to glass and later stoneware design almost by chance. His move to Holmegaard Glass Factory in 1928 was supposed to be temporary—just a way to help the struggling company. But his innovative work became such a success that it not only saved the company but also launched his long and influential career in design.
